2022 International Book Fair and Vegetarian Food Expo opens 11/5

Co-organized by the Kaohsiung City Government, the Environmental Protection Agency, the People's Foundation for Culture and Education, and Fo Guang Shan, the "2022 International Book Fair and Vegetable Expo - My Planet, My Care II" was unveiled on November 5 at the Buddha Memorial Hall on Fo Guang Shan, with the following guests: Kaohsiung Vice Mayor Luo Daxing, Abbot of Fo Guang Shan, Monk Xinbao, Chairman of Fo Guang Shan Compassionate Social Welfare Foundation Venerable Ci Rong, and President of Fo Guang Shan Charitable Institutes Venerable Yi Lai, The event was attended by about 1,300 guests, including Mr. Huang Ching-shan, Chairman of South Sixth Corporation, government officials, school principals, and merit holders from all walks of life in South Kaohsiung.

Monk Xinbao said, the 2022 International Book Exhibition to "my earth, I come to care Ⅱ" as the theme, activities include: "International Book Fair & middot; literary power action", "in the local vegetables live & middot; food finger big move", "spiritual encounter & middot; sensory shock", "net zero vision & middot; green action" and so on the four large number of points. The International Book Fair and Vegetarian Food Expo is a manifestation of spiritual environmental protection and love for the Earth. The Earth is the home of mankind, but under the influence of warming, extreme climates have caused droughts and floods, which jeopardize the growth of food and also threaten the living environment of people, and Fo Guang Shan encourages the protection of the Earth by vegetables and food.

Mr. Ching-Shan Huang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of South Sixth Company, said that on behalf of the South Sixth Charitable Foundation, he donated 1 million dollars to make a small contribution, and the donation will be used for the following purposes: First, to donate 15,000 good books to the children of Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung area schools. Donate a bookmobile to Yuanfu Temple to carry books to remote areas for children to read. Renting a car to transport elementary school children from all over the world to visit the Book Fair and Exposition during the exhibition period, as well as the cost of children's lunches.

Huang Ching-shan said he hoped to make this book fair play a bigger and wider comprehensive effect. This book fair activity is on display until November 13, and he also invited all good friends to visit the Buddha Memorial Hall to view the exhibition, to open up the horizons of life with good books, to enrich the spiritual life, and to make the community happy by reading.
