Founded in 104, the Nan Liu Charity Foundation, driven by Chairman Huang Ching-shan's long years of kindness and compassion, has called on many kind-hearted people to work together for the common good. In recent years, in addition to actively laying out the planning for long term care facilities, the Nan Liu Charitable Scholarship, which has been awarded since the foundation's inception, has also assisted many underprivileged students in their studies, allowing them to feel the warmth and care of society.
Mr. Huang Ching-shan, Chairman of the Nan Liu Charity Foundation, said that the most beautiful scenery in Taiwan is the people, and the warmest thing is the temperature, because of the enthusiasm and passion of the Taiwanese people, so there is warmth everywhere in Taiwan. He and his friends established the Nan Liu Charitable Foundation in 104 R.O.C. The main purpose of the foundation is to gather the goodwill of all parties to send warmth to the disadvantaged people in Tainan when they have the ability to do so.
Huang Ching-shan pointed out that in recent years, Taiwan is gradually moving towards an aging society, and the importance of long term care is becoming more and more apparent. He started to provide meal services for the elderly who live alone or who are disadvantaged at the beginning of the foundation's establishment, and at first the meals were outsourced, but the hygiene and quality of the outsourced meals could not be fully controlled, and furthermore, the immediacy of the delivery of the meals is also very important. In order to provide better meals and services to the elderly, he has built a central kitchen in the open space next to his ancestral home, which is expected to be completed and used in the spring of 2012. By then, he will be able to serve Chinese food and dinner to about 400 elderly people every day, and the service area will be expanded to include the elderly in Tainan's remote rural areas such as Liuyieng, Guantian, Xiaying, Liujia, Dongshan, and so on.
Huang said that caring for the elderly is one of the goals of the Southern Sixth Charitable Foundation, and the awarding of incentives for elementary and middle school students, as well as condolences for caring families, are also the main tasks that the foundation continues to carry out and promote. In addition, he believes that Taiwan's culture and arts are of great value for promotion and preservation, so every year he invites arts and cultural organizations such as Ming Hua Yuan, Tang Mei Yun, Liao Qiong Zhi, Xiuqin and other opera troupes, as well as the Southern Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, Paper Windmill Theatre, and other arts and cultural units to perform in the hope that through the way of educating people and entertaining people, Taiwan's unique arts and cultures can be passed on and preserved.
